Redeem your time (Aspire To Inspire Before You Expire)

Mem. Verse: Colosians 4:5 “Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time”.

Ephesians 5:16 “Redeeming the time because the days are evil”. The Bible says we should redeem our time because the days are evil. Its very necessary for all Christians to understand that we live in evil times. Life is shortened nowadays as compared to earlier times because we are in evil last days. If life is shortened then we must live our life pleasing God.

Ecclesiastes 12:1 “Remember now your creator in the days of your youth. Before the difficult days come. And the years draw near when you say “i have no pleasure in them”. We all believe that as long as Christ tarries we would surely die. In our Akan tradition, if a man doesn’t give birth, it is accredited unto him as a useless person and is not recognised as an ancestor. Basically it means he couldn’t impact his generation. I also think that the greatest failure is when one never impacted his generation during his stay on earth.

Every person will expire and as a result one needs to aspire to inspire others. There are some adults who wish they can come back as youths again and correct their mistakes because they wasted their time on unnecessary things. But very unfortunate for them they cant be youths any more. As youth who are the engine of the church, let us not use our strength on football, chasing girls/boys, fashion, social media etc while the elderly work at church. We wont be youths forever. Bible then admonishes us today to use our time on precious things which will bring us glory.

Beloved as we have opportunity let us not give all our strength to unfruitful things but pursue things that will help our Christian life. Married couples will tell you the freedom and time they had during their youthful age is very limited. Ladies would want to please their husbands whiles husbands will do anything to make their family happy. Some people look at some great men and they wished they were like them. But you know all these great men paid a price, a price of spending quality time in prayer, in fasting, in learning the word of God, studying under the feet of other people who were not even known anywhere (humility). Be inspired by these words and know that a time is coming when you can’t do anything. Time wasted can’t be retrieved: if then why don’t we use our time judiciously. If life is short then why procrastinate certain important things? From today defer not anything but should be “dzo la li” now or never. Remember that you will expire and before you expire, aspire to inspire others.
